Users stated that the problem started after a network outage in early October, however, this could be unrelated. The problem: Cisco 8961 phones take around 30s to load the corporate directory and return search results. WebEnsure web access is enabled on the device and go to the IP of the registered phone, under "network setup" in the top left, about 1/4 the way down you will see: Something should be an IP if you removed DNS, and the IP should be reachable from the phone if it is not the current server the device is registered too.
