WebSep 21, 2024 · This is a chambered poplar Tele (no f hole) that I sprayed with (purists close your eyes) Rustoleum canvas white and top coated with General Finishes High Performance water based poly. Just a light scuff with 320 grit between coats. It dried hard enough to wet sand and polish after a week dry time. http://www.crystalac.info/

(I have tried Target 6000 and 7000: 6000 was quite good, 7000 was likely old and no longer viable, and has since been discontinued anyway.)

WebDec 25, 2024 · Since shellac does melt in to previous coats that might work. Since water born finishes don't you might be more dependent on the way your gun atomizes the finish - it might work better with an air brush.
