Web15 hours ago · Guo and partners found that overexpression of Dickkopf-related protein 3 (DKK3) in pancreatic cancer cells reduced the glycolysis markers HK2, HIF1α, GLUT1, LDHA, and PDK1 to inhibit glycolysis in tumor cells. This inhibition subsequently led to a decrease in lactate levels and an increase in extracellular glucose levels. WebBackground -Dickkopf-related protein (DKK) 3 is a secreted protein that is involved in the regulation of cardiac remodeling and vascular smooth muscle cell differentiation, but little is known about its role in atherosclerosis. Methods -We tested the hypothesis that DKK3 is atheroprotective using both epidemiological and experimental approaches. Dickkopf (DKK) is a family of proteins consisting of five members as of 2024. The most well-studied is Dickkopf-related protein 1 (DKK1). DKK proteins inhibit the Wnt signaling pathway coreceptors LRP5 and LRP6. They bind with high affinity as ligands to KREMEN1 and KREMEN2, which are transmembrane proteins. DKK proteins have important roles in the development of vertebrates.

WebIt was recently proposed that Dickkopf-related protein-1 (DKK1), an endogenous antagonist of the pathway, might be implicated in AD pathogenesis. Here, we hypothesized that canonical Wnt pathway deactivation associated to DKK1 induction contributes to late-onset AD pathogenesis, and thus DKK1 neutralization could attenuate AD pathology.
